FAIA’s statement regarding Russia’s attack to Ukraine

We, the Finnish Association of International Affairs, strongly condemn Russia’s military actions in Ukraine. We want to express our deepest support and sympathies to our friends at the Ukraine Nordic Alliance in Kharkiv as well as to the great nation of Ukraine.

Russia’s actions are a blatant violation of international law, and express the leadership’s complete disregard for human rights, peace, and stability. These actions do not belong to contemporary Europe. This isn’t solely an attack on Ukraine but to the entire international community.

FAIA pleads to the EU, the US, and the rest of the international community impose heavy sanctions on the Russian state, as well as on the Belarusian state, and to support Ukraine in this difficult situation.
